Cowboys Reworked DT Tyrone Crawford’s Contract, Free Up $4.4M In Cap Room

The Dallas Cowboys have reworked the contract ofย DT Tyrone Crawford on Thursday and freed up $4.4 million in cap space, according to David Helman.

Crawford, 26, is in the second year of hisย six-year, $45.675 million contractย that includedย $17.425 million guaranteed. He was set to make a base salary of $6.75 million for the 2016 season.

However, it’s likely that a good portion of this salary will be converted into a signing bonus that will be prorated over the course of the deal.

In 2015,ย Crawford appeared in all 16 games for the Cowboys and recorded 36 tackles, five sacks, and a pass defense.ย Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 81 interior defensive lineman out of 123 qualifying players.
