Cowboys Sign LB Keith Smith To Active Roster, Cut DT Ken Bishop

The Dallas Cowboys have signedย LB Keith Smith to their active roster and placedย DT Ken Bishopย on waivers to make room for Smith, according to Todd Archer.

Smith, 22, signed with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of San Jose State this past May, but was waived at the end of August as the team cut their roster down to 53 players.

Dallas has since promoted and waived Smith toย their active roster on multiple occasions, so it’s unlikely that he’ll remain on the active roster more than a few days.ย Smith played just two defensive snaps.

Bishop, 23, was aย seventh-round pick by the Cowboys back in May. Heย earned time at noseguard while at Northern Illinois and was elected toย first team All-MAC honors as a senior.

In 2013, Bishop was able toย accumulate 70 tackles, seven tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and two interceptions.
