Cowboys Sign Seventh-Round Pick LB Will Smith

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Cowboys have signed seventh-round pick LB Will Smith.

The Cowboys also signed DE Ben Gardner to a contract earlier in the day.

Smith played just two years of college football at Texas Tech. He totaled 175 tackles, 12 tackles for a loss, 4.5 sacks and two pass defenses during this time.

Smith has good size 6-foot-2 1/8 to go along with decent speed, but he’ll need to prove that he can be a solid special teams contributor in order for him to secure a roster out of training camp. Dallas brought in a staggering number of undrafted free agents so there will be plenty of competition across the board this summer.
