The Dallas Cowboys have signed former Jets WRย Devin Smith to a futures contract for the 2019 season on Friday, according to his agent.

As of now, the Cowboys have signed eight players to futures deals including:
- OT Jake Campos
- RB Jordan Chunn
- CB Donovan Olumba
- LB Kyle Queiro
- G Cody Wichmann
- DT Aziz Shittu
- S Treston Decoud
- WRย Devin Smith
Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.
Smith, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Jets back in 2015. He was in the final year of hisย four-year, $5.872 million rookie contract that includesย $3.667 million guaranteedย and set to make a base salaryย of $705,000 for the 2018 season when the Jets waived him this past July.
Since entering the NFL,ย Smith has suffered two torn ACLs.
In 2016, Smith was limited to appearing in just four games and caught one pass for 20 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
