Mie Fisher reports that Cowboys TE Rico Gathers was arrested Friday night by the Frisco Police Department for possession of marijuana.
Gathers, 24, is a former sixth-round pick of the Cowboys back in May of 2016. He was, unfortunately, cut loose coming out of the preseason and later signed to the team’s practice squad at the start of the regular season.
Dallas brought Gathers back on a future/reserve contract in January of last year but was placed on injured reserve after sustaining a concussion during the preseason.
He has yet to appear in an NFL game.
During his college career, Gathers played basketball for Baylor and was First Team All-Big 12 selection before converting to tight end and pursuing an NFL career.
