Dante Fowler Jr Would “Love” To Be Back With Rams

Rams DE Dante Fowler Jr is in line to be an unrestricted free agent after signing a one-year deal with Los Angeles this past March.

Fowler says he’d “love” to be back with the Rams if they can work something out.

โ€œI would love to stay here and see if something worked out,โ€ Fowler said, via the Los Angeles Times. โ€œI know they have their hands full, so weโ€™ll just see how it works out.

โ€œIt would be nice to stay with the best player in the league, A.D., and have Jalen and me and Cory โ€” that would be really cool. But thereโ€™s so many good players on this team, and I know how the business goes.โ€

The franchise tag would cost the Rams around $16.2 million for the 2020 season fully guaranteed.

According to OverTheCap, the Rams are projected to have over $25 million of cap space to work with next year with some other notable free agents to address including LB Cory Littleton.

However, there is expected to be turnover next year in Los Angeles, so that cap figure could and likely will increase.

Fowler, 25, is a former first-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2015. He was traded to the Rams a few years ago for a 2019 third-round pick and a 2020 fifth-round pick.

Fowler played out the final year of his four-year, $23.5 million rookie contract and returned to the Rams this past March on a one-year contract worth $14 million.

In 2019, Fowler appeared in 15 games and recorded 56 tackles, 11.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, a recovery returned for a touchdown and five pass defenses.

We have him featured in our Top 50 – 2020 Free Agents list.
