We have gotten the first official report that DeAngelo Williams has been placed on IR, per Darin Gantt. Gantt also mentioned that Jimmy Clausen will be held out this week.

Adam Schefter of ESPN tweets that Carolina Panthers are “strongly considering” placing DeAngelo Williams on season-ending injured reserve.
Williams has been dealing with a strained arch that has kept him out of action for majority of the 2010 season. The Panthers season has little hope left so it seems likely that they will shut Williams down and try to get him healthy for next year.
