Cowboys WR Dez Bryant told reporters on Wednesday that he isn’t interested in taking a pay cut to be back in Dallas next year.

Bryant admitted to having some frustration with his role in the Cowboys’ offense and his season overall.
“I feel like for the most part I can only do what I can control,” Bryan said, per Brandon George. “A bit of times, hell yeah, frustrated, certain situations I couldn’t control. Other than that I believe who I am. I’m a hell of a football player.
“I’m a hell of a football player. I know that. I believe that. I let a lot of things get in the way that bothered me mentally. I feel like, if anything I need to deal with in the offseason is that, only certain things I can control.”
Bryant’s production has dropped off in recent years after he signed his big-money extension with the Cowboys, which has led to speculation that he could be a candidate toย take a pay reduction this offseason.
Bryant, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2010. He’s currently in the third year of his five-year, $70 million contract that included $45 million guaranteed and stands to make base salaries of $12.5 million over the final two years of the agreement.
According toย OverTheCap.com,ย releasing Bryant next year would free up $8.5 millionย of available cap space while creating $8 million in dead money.
In 2017, Bryant has appeared in 15 games for the Cowboys and has caught 66 passes for 814 yards receiving and six touchdowns.ย Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 45 receiver out of 116 qualifying players.
