The Miami Dolphins announced Friday that they’veย activated C Jake Brendel from injured reserve and placed CB Cordrea Tankersley on injured reserve.
Brendel, 25, wound up signing on with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of UCLA back in 2016. He was waived coming out of the preseason and later signed to Dallas’ practice squad.
After being released by the Cowboys, Brendel signed on to the Dolphins’ practice squad and managed to make the 53-man roster last year. Miami brought him back on an exclusive rights deal this past April.
In 2017, Brendel was active for all 16 games and played a total of 67 snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.
Tankersley, 24, is a former third-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2017. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $3.17 million contract and set to make base salaries of $583,000 and $673,000 over the next two years of the agreement.
In 2018, Tankersley appeared in six games for the Dolphins and recorded five tackles and no sacks or interceptions.
