Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports that the Dolphins are bringing in free agent Gย Kraig Urbik for a visit in the coming days.
- Jackson adds that as long as things go well during the meeting, the Dolphins intend to sign him to a contract.
This is the first reported interest inย Urbik since he was released by the Bills close to a week before the start of free agency.
It’s worth mentioning that signing Urbik to a contract won’tย factor into the Dolphins’ย 2017 compensatory picks, which is important for them, given that this has been a big consideration for Miami this offseason.
Urbik, 30, was entering the final year of his five-year, $14.6 million contract that included a $3.5 million signing bonusย when was released in a move that freedย up $1,775 millionย in available cap spaceย for the Bills.
Urbik is among the best guards still available in free agent, and could end up being a decent depth addition for a team like the Dolphins.
In 2016, Urbik appeared in all 16 games for the Bills and was rated by Pro Football Focusย has him rated as the No. 48 guardย out of 81 qualifying players.
