Field Yates of ESPN is reporting that the Dolphins have claimed DT Chris Jones off of waivers from the Patriots on Monday.
Jones, 25, is a former sixth-round pick of the Texans back in 2013. He lasted just a few months in Houston before he was waived and later claimed by the Buccaneers. Jones was once again waived after a few weeks and this time claimed by the Patriots.
He’s in the final year of his four-year, $2.253 million rookie contract and stands to make a base salary of $675,000 for the 2016 season.
In 2014, Jones appeared in 15 games for the Patriots and recorded 25 tackles and three sacks.
