According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, the Dolphins would like to sign DB Eric Rowe to an extension before the start of free agency next March.
Jackson reports that Miami has spoken to Rowe’s agents about a new deal and the two parties are negotiating a potential deal.
Rowe said he enjoys being in Miami and the team likes his ability to cover opposing tight ends.
Rowe, 27, is a former second-round pick of the Eagles back in 2015. He was traded to the Patriots for a conditional fourth-round pick in 2016.
Rowe made a base salary of $705,000 for the 2018 season before signing a one-year contract worth $3.5 million this past March. He’s, once again, in line to be an unrestricted free agent in 2020.
In 2019, Rowe has appeared in 11 games for the Dolphins and recorded 54 tackles, no interceptions and six pass defenses.
