Dolphins Expected To Conduct Second Interview With Brian Flores

Ian Rapoport reports that if the Patriots win on Sunday, the Dolphins are expected to conduct a second interview with LBs coach Brian Flores for their head-coaching job during the week before the Super Bowl.

The idea is to plan out coaching staff hires and address some other issues.

Teams are allowed to commit to hiring a coach from a team still in the playoffs during the week before the Super Bowl.

Miami has been locked into hiring Flores as their next head coach and names have surfaced for jobs on his staff including Jim Caldwell, Brett Bielema and Patrick Graham.

Flores, 37, began his NFL coaching career with the Patriots back in 2004 as a scouting assistant. He has spent his entire career with New England and held a number of positions including Pro scout, special teams assistant, assistant offense/special teams, defensive assistant, safeties coach and linebackers coach.

The Patriots declined to promote Flores to defensive coordinator after losing Matt Patricia last year, but he served as the team’s de facto coordinator this season.
