Barry Jackson of the Miami Heraldย reiterates that the Dolphins did, in fact, discussย salary parameters with free agent WR Michael Crabtree during his recent visit to Miami.
Yesterday, Jackson reported thatย theย Dolphins were willing to pay free agentย Crabtree close to $3 million for the 2015 season.ย However, Crabtree is reportedly seeking something closer to $4.5 million.
Andrewย Abramson of the Palm Beach Postย later refuted the report, but Jackson has confirmed his information with another source and stands by his report.
Jackson mentions that theย Dolphins have left the door open in regards to signingย Crabtree and couldย re-engage his agent in discussions in the coming weeks.
On top of that, the Dolphins reportedly havenโt ruled outย signing free agent WRย Greg Jenningsย as well.
Crabtree is scheduled to visit with the Raiders at some point next week, so there’s a chance that they could come away with a better offer from Oakland.
Crabtree, 27,ย appeared in all 16 games and caught 68 passes for 698 yards receiving and four touchdowns last year. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 95 receiver out of 110 qualifying players.
