The Miami Dolphins are hosting QB Jake Rudock for a visit and working out DB Akeem King, according to Aaron Wilson.
Rudock, 26, is a former sixth-round pick by the Lions back in 2016. Detroit elected to waive him as they trimmed down to the 53-man limit at the start of the 2016 season and they signed him to their practice squad after clearing waivers.
Rudock managed to make the 53-man roster in 2017 and returned to the Lions on an exclusive rights free agent the following year. From there, he joined the Dolphins on a futures contract last year and was eventually signed to their practice squad at the start of the season.
Miami brought Rudock back on a futures contract this past January and he’s been on and off of their roster.
In 2017, Rudock appeared in three games for the Lions and completed three of five pass attempts for 24 yards and an interception.
King, 27, is a former seventh-round pick of the Falcons back in 2015. He was, unfortunately, waived at the start of the 2015 season and later signed to the team’s practice squad before eventually being promoted to their active roster.
King returned to the Falcons on an exclusive rights contract for the 2017 season but was waived coming out of the preseason. The Seahawks later added him to their practice squad and brought him back each of the past two years.
The Bills signed him to a one-year contract in August but released him a week later.
In 2019, King appeared in 13 games for the Seahawks and recorded 17 tackles, no interceptions, and two passes defended.
We have him included in our Top 50 NFL Free Agents list.
