Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Dolphins are bringing in veteran RB Frank Gore for a visit on Thursday.
Gore previously met with the Lions and while there was a report that they were expected to get a deal done, the Lions ultimately signed LeGarrette Blount to a contract instead.
Gore, 34, is a former third-round pick of the 49ers back in 2005. He spent 10 seasons in San Francisco before signing a three-year, $12 million contract that included $7.5 million guaranteed with the Colts back in 2015.
Gore played out the final year of his contract and made a base salary of $3.5 million for the 2017 season. He’s once again testing the open market as an unrestricted this offseason.
In 2017, Gore appeared in all 16 games for the Colts and rushed for 961 yards on 261 carries (3.7 YPC) to go along with 29 receptions for 245 yards receiving and four total touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 17 running back out of 58 qualifying players.
