The Miami Dolphins announced Friday that they’ve officially placed RT Julien Davenport on injured reserve with a hyperextended knee and a small crack in his tibia.
This move will open the door for J’Marcus Webb to take over as the Dolphins’ starting right tackle.
It’s possible that Miami will designate Davenport to return later on in the year.
Davenport, 24, is a former fourth-round pick of the Texans back in 2017. He was traded to the Dolphins as part of the Laremy Tunsil trade coming out of the preseason.
Davenport is in the third year of his four-year, $2.986 million contract and set to make base salaries of $645,000 and $735,000 over the final two years of the agreement.
In 2019, Davenport has appeared in one game, making one start at right tackle.
