The Miami Dolphins announced a series of roster moves on Thursday including waiving Javaris Davis with a non-football injury designation.
The Dolphins also placed six players on the reserve/COVID-19 list including DT Raekwon Davis, DT Benito Jones, S Brandon Jones, G Solomon Kindley, DE Shaq Lawson and WR Kirk Merritt.
Miami activated WR Malcolm Perry and DT Zach Sieler from the reserve/COVID-19 list.
The COVID-19 list was created this summer for a player who either tests positive for or who has been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person or persons.
Players will remain on the list until they are medically cleared to return.
Lawson, 25, is a former first-round pick of the Bills back in 2016. He just finished the final year of his four-year, $10.27 million contract that included $9.82 million guaranteed and made a base salary of $1.85 million in the final year of the agreement.
The Dolphins signed Lawson to a three-year, $30 million deal this past March.
In 2019, Lawson appeared in 15 games for the Bills and recorded 32 tackles, 6.5 sacks, one forced fumble and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus rated Lawson as the No. 52 edge defender out of 107 qualifying players.
