The Miami Dolphins announced Tuesday that they’ve placed rookie OT Eric Smith on injured reserve and promoted DB Jordan Lucas to their active roster.
Lucas, 24, is a former sixth-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2016. He was in the second year of his four-year, $2.45 million contract and set to make a base salary of $540,000 for the 2017 season when he was waived coming out of the preseason and later signed to the Dolphins’ practice squad.
Miami later signed him to their practice squad.
In 2016, Lucas appeared in eight games for the Dolphins and recorded two tackles and no interceptions.
