Barry Jackson reports that the Dolphins are expected to promote DE Jonathan Woodard from their practice squad to the active roster.
Woodard, 25, is a former seventh-round pick by the Jaguars in the 2016 NFL Draft out of Central Arkansas. After completing the first year of his rookie contract, Jacksonville waived him coming out of last year’s preseason.
The Falcons signed him to their practice squad but released him after a couple weeks. He signed to the Dolphins’ practice squad in December of 2017 and re-signed to a futures contract this offseason.
He was among Miami’s final roster cuts coming out of the preseason and re-signed to their practice squad a day later.
He has yet to appear in an NFL game.
