Dolphins S Reshad Jones Feared To Have Torn His Rotator Cuff, Could Be Out For Season

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Dolphins fear Pro Bowl Sย Reshad Jones tore his rotator cuff and could be out for the remainder of the season.

  • Rapoport adds that Jones is undergoing further tests right now determineย the severity of the injury.

Jones had already been dealing with a groin but losing him for any period of time would be a huge blow to the Dolphins’ defense.

Jones, 28, is a former fifth-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2010. He’s currently in the fourth year of his five-year, $30.81 million contract that includes $15 million guaranteed and stands to make a base salary of $7.225 million for the 2016 season.

In 2016, Jones has appeared in six games for the Dolphins and recorded 51 tackles, one interception, a half sack and four pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 3 safety out of 86 qualifying players.
