Dolphins Schedule Second Interview With Brian Flores For Wednesday Night

Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald reports that the Dolphins have scheduled a follow-up interview with Patriots LBs coach Brian Flores for Wednesday night.

Last week, Ian Rapoport mentioned that the Dolphins were expected to conduct a second interview with Flores for their head-coaching job before the Super Bowl if the Patriots advanced, so this doesn’t come as a big surprise.

Rapoport mentioned that the idea is to plan out coaching staff hires and address some other issues.

Miami has been locked into hiring Flores as their next head coach and names have surfaced for jobs on his staff including Jim Caldwell and Patrick Graham.

Flores, 37, began his NFL coaching career with the Patriots back in 2004 as a scouting assistant. He has spent his entire career with New England and held a number of positions including Pro scout, special teams assistant, assistant offense/special teams, defensive assistant, safeties coach and linebackers coach.

The Patriots declined to promote Flores to defensive coordinator after losing Matt Patricia last year, but he served as the team’s de facto coordinator this season.
