Gauthier, 23, wound up going undrafted out of Miami back in 2019. He later signed a three-year, $1.755 million contract with the Patriots, but was waived coming out of the preseason and later re-signed to their practice squad.
From there, the Jaguars signed Gauthier off of the Patriots’ practice squad last year. However, they opted to cut him loose back in August and he had another brief stint with the Patriots.
Gauthier has yet to appear in a game since entering the NFL.
Tankersley, 26, is a former third-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2017. He’s currently in the final year of a four-year, $3.17 million contract and set to make a base salary of $673,000 for the 2020 season.
The Dolphins placed Tankersley on the PUP list coming out of the preseason last year with a knee injury and later declined to activate him from the list. Miami ultimately waived him in July.
In 2018, Tankersley appeared in six games for the Dolphins and recorded five tackles and no sacks or interceptions.
