The Miami Dolphins officially signed DB Dee Delaney to a futures contract for the 2019 season on Friday.
The Dolphins have now signed nine players to futures deals including:
- LB James Burgess
- C Connor Hilland
- S Chris Lammons
- DT Jamiyus Pittman
- LB Quentin Poling
- DE Jeremiah Valoaga
- LB Sam Eguavoen
- QB Jake Rudock
- CB Dee Delaney
Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.
Delaney, 23, wound up signing on with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent out of Miami this past April. He agreed to a three-year, $1.71 million contract but was waived coming out of the preseason.
Delaney was on and off of the Jaguars’ roster before eventually being claimed by the Dolphins in December. He was later added to their practice squad.
In 2018, Delaney appeared in two games for the Jaguars and Dolphins but did not record a statistic.
