The Miami Dolphins announced Monday that they’ve signed CFL LB Sam Eguavoen to a futures contract for the 2019 season.
As of now, the Dolphins have signed seven players to futures deals including:
- LB James Burgess
- C Connor Hilland
- S Chris Lammons
- DT Jamiyus Pittman
- LB Quentin Poling
- DE Jeremiah Valoaga
- LB Sam Eguavoen
Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.
Eguavoen, 25, wound up going undrafted out of Texas Tech back in 2015. He signed on with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL for the 2016 season and has spent the past three years in Canada.
In three seasons with Saskatchewan, Eguavoen recorded 159 tackles, four sacks, an interception, two forced fumbles and two defensive touchdowns over the course of 38 games.
