Dolphins Tried Out Veteran DT Barry Cofield & DE C.J. Wilson

Howard Balzer reports that the Dolphins tried out DT Barry Cofield, DT Cory Johnson, and DE C.J. Wilson on Tuesday.

Cofield, 32, is a former fourth-round pick of the Giants back in 2006. He played five years for the Giants before signing on with the Redskins as an unrestricted free agent in 2011.

Washington released him in February of last year with a failed physical designation and he later returned to the Giants towards the end of last year.

This is actually the first reported interest in Cofield since free agency got underway several months ago.

In 2015, Cofield was active for three games, but did not record a single tackle.

Wilson, 29, is a former seventh-round pick of the Packers back in 2010. Wilson played out his rookie contract with Green Bay before signing on with the Raiders as an unrestricted free agent back in 2014.

Wilson was released by the Lions before signing on with the Saints in June. Wilson was among the Saints’ roster cuts coming out of the preseason.

In 2015, Wilson has appeared in 12 games and recorded 12 11 tackles and sack between the Raiders and Lions.
