Dolphins Worked Out Veteran DT Roy Miller

Mike Kaye of First Coast News, citing a league source, reports that the Dolphins recently worked out free agent DT Roy Miller.

Miller previously toldย Kaye that a few teams have shown some interest in him and he’s schedule a few visits with prospective teams.

โ€œThereโ€™s a few teams that haveย shown some interestย here and there,โ€ Miller said. โ€œI believe my agent has a few โ€” thereโ€™s a couple of trips I have to take โ€” this month. It was always [the plan] to kind of wait until mid-July, so I can go out there with enough time to heal and time to get back in shape and then go out there and compete.โ€

Miller, 29, is a former third-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2009. He spent four years in Tampa Bay before signing a five-year, $18.63 million contract that included $1.975 million guaranteed on with the Jaguars in 2013.

Miller was set to make a base salary of $3,637,500 for the 2017 season when the Jaguars released him in a move that freed up $3,962,500 of available cap space this past March.

In 2016,ย Miller appeared in six games and recorded 10 tackles and no sacks for the Jaguars. Pro Football Focus has himย down for playing 156 total snaps last season.

We have him featured in ourย Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
