Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry Officially Signs Franchise Tender

Adam Schefter reports thatย Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry signed his franchise tender Thursday morning.

There had been some speculation that the Dolphins could rescind the franchise tag if they got the impression that they wouldn’t be able to trade Landry before free agency.

However, by signing the tender, that’s no longer an option for Miami and they will now carry him at just under $16 million fully guaranteed unless they’re able to trade him to another team.

Regarding potential landing spots for Landry, Adam Beasley reports that the Browns and Ravens are among the interested teams, but no deal is imminent.

Jeremy Fowler of ESPNย previously reported that Landry was drawing interest from at least five teams including the Ravens and Bears.

The Titans and 49ers have also come up as potential destinations forย Landry.

Landry, 25, is a former second-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2014. He’s entering the final year of his four-year, $3.5 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $893,852 for the 2017 season.

In 2017, Landry appeared in 16ย  games and caught 112 passes for 987 yards receiving and nine touchdowns. He has also contributed 81 kick return yards. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 19 receiver out of 119 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding Landry as the news is available.
