Donald Driver “Leaning Toward Retirement”

Mike Garafolo of USA Today reports that Packers WR Donald Driver is “leaning toward retirement,” according to a person that has been informed of his thinking.

Garafolo’s source added that Driver hasn’t made a final decision regarding his future just yet, but there’s a chance he could make an announcement at some point this week.

Driver, 37, has spent 14 seasons with the Packers and is their all-time leader in both receptions and yards. His 2012 season consisted of eight catches for 77 yards and two touchdowns, but he previous mentioned that he’s hoping to play another two years towards the end of the season.

He’ll be an unrestricted free agent in the next few months, but at this point in his career, it’s doubtful that there will be even modest interest in him on the open market.
