Eagles Choose To Keep DC Juan Castillo, Hire Todd Bowles

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that the Eagles have made the decision to keep Juan Castillo in place as their defensive coordinator for another season. The good news, however, is that they’ve hired former Dolphins coach Todd Bowles to be their defensive backs coach.

Last year, it seemed as though they had plenty of pieces in place to become one of the leagues best defensive units but they ultimately never lived up to their potential and Castillo was seen as the biggest reason why.

Adding Bowles was a great move, as he was a very good coach for the Dolphins in years past. This not only addresses one of the positions that needs to improve next season but it also gives them an option to replace Castillo with if the team’s defense continues to disappoint.

Still, Eagles fans will not be happy about another season of Castillo running the teams defense.
