According to CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones, the top focus for the Eagles right now is trying to get a deal done to keep OLB Jaelan Phillips.

Philadelphia traded for Phillips at the midseason deadline last year and was impressed with how well he fit in. He’s expected to have a hot market but the Eagles would like to keep him in the fold if they can.
Jones says the Eagles are also working on extensions for DTs Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis, two key building blocks going forward that it wants to lock up.
Phillips, 26, was a one-year starter at Miami and was a second-team All-ACC selection in 2020. The Dolphins drafted Phillips with pick No. 18 overall in the 2021 draft.
He was entering the fourth year of his four-year, $14,018,203 contract with the Dolphins that included a $7,555,057 signing bonus when the team exercised his fifth-year option worth $13.251 million fully guaranteed for the 2025 season.
Miami then traded him before the midseason deadline to the Eagles for a third-round pick.
In 2025, Phillips appeared in nine games for the Dolphins and eight games for the Eagles. He recorded 53 total tackles, seven tackles for loss, five sacks, one forced fumble, two recoveries and four pass deflections.
Carter, 24, was selected with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft by the Eagles. He’s entering the fourth year of his four-year, $21.806 million contract that included a $14 million signing bonus.
The Eagles will have a fifth-year option to pick up on Carter in May projected to be worth $27.127 million fully guaranteed.
In 2025, Carter appeared in 11 games for the Eagles and recorded 33 total tackles, five tackles for loss, three sacks and seven pass deflections.
Davis, 26, was an AP All-American as a senior and won the Chuck Bednarik Award and Outland Trophy, given to college football’s best defensive player and best interior defensive lineman, respectively. The Eagles traded up and used the No. 13 overall pick on him in the 2022 draft.
He signed a four-year, $17,009,274 contract that included a $9,550,381 signing bonus. The Eagles exercised his fifth-year option in 2025 worth $12.938 million fully guaranteed for the 2026 season.
In 2025, Davis appeared in all 17 games for the Eagles and recorded 72 total tackles, nine tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks and six pass deflections.
