Eagles Not Sure Who Would Start In Place Of Vick

With Michael Vick suffering two broken ribs in last weekends loss to the Arizona Cardinals, it’s widely believed that he’ll be forced to miss Sunday nights game against the Giants. In fact VIck was unable to practice today, per Jeff McLane.  Vince Young has been reported to be the next man up but from his recent comments there seems to be some question as to whether or not he’s ready to play.

Each week, from studying, I’m getting better and better each day,” Young explained. “I’m not where I want to be at because this is my first year here. But overall, I really feel like Marty [Mornhinweg], Doug Pederson and Mike [Vick] are doing a great job making sure I know the plays.”

Young made a brief appearance earlier in the season and threw a terrible interception deep in Eagles territory and was subsequently replaced immediately. There have also been reports that Young and Mike Kafka have both been taking first-team snaps this week which leaves room for the team to turn to Kafka if needed. It’s also worth noting that Vick has yet to be ruled out for Week 11 and the Eagles are most likely hoping that he’ll be able to go so that they aren’t forced to endure a potential embarrassment this weekend.
