The Eagles have placed DE Vinny Curry on injured reserve and promoted G Sua Opeta to his place on the active roster, per Jeff McLane.
The Eagles also signed TE Jordan Franks to replace Opeta’s spot on the practice squad.
Curry had three total tackles and half a sack before going down in Sunday’s 27-17 loss to Washington. He’ll be eligible to return after spending a minimum of three weeks on IR.
Curry, 32, is a former second-round pick of the Eagles back in 2012. He signed a five-year, $47.25 million contract that included $23 million guaranteed with the Eagles back in 2016 but was in March of 2018.
The Buccaneers later signed Curry to a three-year deal for up to $27 million in 2018 but was cut loose after one season. He signed a one-year, $2.25 deal with Philadelphia last offseason and re-signed on another one-year deal this August.
In 2019, Curry appeared in all 16 games and recorded 27 total tackles, five tackles for loss, and five sacks. Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 22 overall edge defender out of 107 qualifying players.
