Eagles Sign OL Matt Tobin To A Two-Year Deal

Adam Caplan of ESPN reports that the Eagles have signed OL Matt Tobin to a two-year contract on Monday.

The Eagles used a low-round restricted tender on him that would have cost them $1,671,000 for the 2016 season. However, Caplan says that this new deal will lower his 2016 base salary while keeping him under team control for the 2017 season.

Tobin, 25, wound up signing on with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent out of Iowa back in 2013. He’s managed to make the 53-man roster each season before testing the market as a restricted free agent a few months ago.

In 2015, Tobin appeared in all 16 games for the Eagles and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 49 guard out of 81 qualifying players.
