Eagles Worked Out LBs Sean Spence, Donald Butler & Jelani Jenkins

According to Field Yates, the Eagles brought in free agent LBs Donald Butler, Jelani Jenkins and Sean Spence for workouts on Monday.

This comes after LB Jordan Hicks left Thursday’s win with an ankle injury.

Spence, 27, is a former third-round pick of the Steelers back in 2012. He, unfortunately, sustained a serious knee injury early on his NFL career that wound up preventing him from appearing in a game until the 2014 season.

However, Spence was able to return and play pretty well for the Steelers before he departed and signed a one-year, $2.5 million contract with the Titans last year. The Colts signed him a one-year, $2.5 million contract this past March only to cut him loose coming out of the preseason.

Indianapolis re-signed Spence a week later but elected to cut him loose a few weeks ago.

In 2017, Spence has appeared in three games but has yet to record a tackle.

Jenkins, 25, is a former fourth-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2013. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2.632 million rookie contract and signed on with the Raiders as an unrestricted free agent back in March.

The Raiders, unfortunately, released Jenkins and later placed him on injured reserve before cutting him loose last week with a settlement.

The Bills signed Jenkins to a contarct at the start of the season but elected to cut him loose a few weeks later.

In 2016, Jenkins appeared in nine games and recorded 29 tackles, no sacks and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 87 linebacker out of 87 qualifying players last year.
