The COVID-19 list was created this summer for a player who either tests positive for or who has been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person or persons.
Players will remain on the list until they are medically cleared to return.
Carter, 26, wound up going undrafted out of Miami (FL) in 2017 before signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Broncos. Carter managed to make the 53-man roster his first two seasons before being waived coming out of the preseason last year.
Carter signed to the Falcons practice squad and was promoted to Atlanta’s active roster shortly after.
In 2019, Carter appeared in 11 games for the Falcons and recorded nine tackles, no interceptions and one pass defense.
