Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Falcons are likely to sign K Giorgio Tavecchio to replace Matt Bryant, who is dealing with a hamstring injury, in Week 7.
Tavecchio, 28, originally signed on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of California back in 2012. He was unable to make the team’s 53-man roster and was released at the start of the season.
The Raiders later claimed him off of waivers in 2014 and brought him back on an exclusive rights contract this offseason. However, he was waived during the preseason and had a brief stint with the Falcons.
In 2017, Tavecchio appeared in all 16 games for the Raiders and converted 16 of 21 field goal attempts (76.2 percent) to go along with 33 of 34 extra point attempts.
