According to Adam Schefter, the Falcons are ramping up negotiations with LB Deion Jones after extending DT Grady Jarrett.
Schefter says the Falcons will meet with Jones’ agent, Drew Rosenhaus, for face-to-face negotiations on Wednesday in Atlanta.
The Falcons are also working on an extension for WR Julio Jones.
Jones, 24, is a former second-round pick of the Falcons back in 2016. He’s entering in the final year of his four-year, $4.546 million contract and set to make a base salary of $1.07 million for the 2019 season.
In 2018, Jones appeared in six games and recorded 53 tackles, one sack, two interceptions with one being returned for a touchdown, a forced fumble and six pass defenses.
We’ll have more on a new contract for Jones as the news is available.
