According to Ian Rapoport, Falcons WR Julio Jones is receiving an injection in his hamstring with the hopes of playing again in 2020.
Jones was ruled out this week with a hamstring injury that’s bothered him for much of the season. Atlanta has two more games left in 2020 and there have been some questions if Jones will play with the Falcons eliminated from playoff contention.
However, Jones is reportedly pushing to return to the field, hence the PRP injection in early December to try to get his hamstring to heal faster.
Rapoport says the injection typically takes a couple weeks to take, so Atlanta is optimistic Jones will be available for the final two games.
Jones, 31, is a former first-round pick of the Falcons back in 2011. He was in the fifth year of his six-year, $81.432 million contract that includes $47 million guaranteed when he agreed to a three-year, $66 million fully guaranteed contract extension in 2019.
In 2020, Jones has appeared in nine games for the Falcons and caught 51 passes for 771 yards receiving and three touchdowns.
