Former Jaguars LB Russell Allen suffered a stroke during Week 15’s game last season and is now retiring.
The Jaguars parted ways with Allen last week and many said that he was likely to catch on with another team given that he has been a well respected player.
However, Allen’s stroke resulted in a spot on his cerebellum about the size of a dime that is dead.
Allen, 27, signed with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent out of San Diego State back in 2009. Over the course of his career, Allen totaled 331 tackles, two sacks, two forced fumbles, and one interception.
