According to Adam Schefter, veteran LB Gerald Hodges is looking to come out of retirement and sign with an NFL team.
While Hodges retired last year, he changed his mind shortly after and was looking to get back on an NFL team in 2019.
Hodges drew some interest but didn’t end up signing with a team. He’s hoping for better luck in 2020.
Hodges, 29, is a former fourth-round pick of the Vikings back in 2013. Minnesota elected to trade Hodges to the 49ers in return for a sixth-round pick and C Nick Easton back in 2015.
Hodges played out the final year of his four-year, $2.58 million rookie contract and signed a one-year deal with the Bills in 2017. He later caught on with the Saints before signing a one-year contract with the Cardinals last year.
For his career, Hodges recorded 274 tackles, 3.5 sacks, three interceptions, a forced fumble, a recovery, a defensive touchdown and nine pass defenses over the course of six seasons and 81 games.
