Former Ravens S Matt Elam Arrested For Battery & Grand Theft

TMZ Sports is reporting that former Ravens S Matt Elam was arrested Monday morning for grand theft and battery in Delray Beach, Florida this morning.

According to the report, Elam was booked at 8:48 am and is currently being held on $4,500 bond.

This is Elam’s second arrest this year after he was previously arrested for possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to sell or deliver, and possession of a controlled substance. several months.

Despite being a free agent, Elam has found no reported interest and it’s certainly possible his NFL career is over.

Elam, 25, was taken with the No. 32 overall pick in the 2013 draft. He just finished the final year of his four-year, $6.767 million rookie contract that included $5.439 guaranteed.

The Ravens declined to pick up Elam’s fifth-year option that would have run them over $5.6 million in 2017.

Elam’s 2015 season ended after he suffered a torn biceps. However, Elam wound up being suspended one game without pay for violating the NFL substance abuse policy.

In 2016, Elam appeared in nine games for the Ravens and recorded four total tackles.
