Free Agent DT Roy Miller Suspended Six Games

Field Yates of ESPN reports that free agent DTย Roy Miller has been suspended six games for an undisclosed violation.

Last year, Miller wasย arrested in Florida on a domestic battery charge.

Maria Torres of the Kansas City Star reported that Miller’s wife told Jacksonville (Fla.) police that he grabbed her hair and shoved her, pulling a braid out of the back of her head. Miller allegedly left his wife at the zoo after a date and she later took an Uber home. Miller wasn’t there when she arrived but they later got into an argument once he returned.

Miller also threw her cell phone in the toilet and prevented her from retrieving it.

Both had consumedย alcohol that night.

Miller, 30, is a former third-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2009. He spent four years in Tampa Bay before signing a five-year, $18.63 million contract that included $1.975 million guaranteed on with the Jaguars in 2013.

Miller was set to make a base salary of $3,637,500 for the 2017 season when the Jaguars released him last year and he later signed on with the Chiefs. Kansas City cut him loose shortly after the domestic violence incident.

In 2017, Miller has appeared in seven games and recorded six tackles, no sacks and a pass defense for the Chiefs.
