Free Agent OT Eric Winston To Visit With The Dolphins

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Dolphins will bring in free agent OT Eric Winston for a visit on Wednesday.

Schefter adds that the Chargers, CowboysEagles and Patriots have interest in Winston as well.

Winston’s market has been held up due to the recent interest in Jake Long, but he’s clearly one of the best available offensive linemen on the market.

Miami is clearly in a tough position now that Long departed for St Louis. There’s been talk in recent days that Jonathan Martin would likely slide over to left tackle next season, but there some serious concerns about his overall ability.

Adding Winston would to help to stabilize their offensive line and probably could be had at a reasonable price. Still, the Dolphins would be taking a serious risk by asking Martin to protect Ryan Tannehill‘s blind side next season.

I’m sure they would probably jump at the chance to draft one of the Top 3 offensive tackles in this year’s draft class, but it’s doubtful that any one of Luke Joeckel, Eric Fisher or Lane Johnson would be available by the time Miami is on the clock at No. 12 overall.

We have Winston listed as the No. 10 player in our recently updated Top 50 Free Agents list.
