ESPN’s Rob Demovsky is reporting that free agent RB Kapri Bibbs has been suspended by the NFL for one week.
Demovsky notes that while his release from the Packers seemed to come out of nowhere, Green Bay was aware that there was an issue involving Bibbs at the time of his release.
Bibbs, 26, originally signed on with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Colorado State back in 2014. He was on and off of the Broncosโ practice squad before returning to Denver on a one-year, exclusive rights deal for the 2016 season.
The 49ers traded Bibbs and a 2017 fifth-round pick to the Broncos in return for a 2018 fourth-round selection, but San Fransisco elected to cut him loose coming out of the preseason.
Bibbs caught on with the Redskins a few months later and was on and off of their active roster before being waived and later claimed by the Packers. Green Bay waived him during the preseason.
In 2018, Bibbs appeared in 12 games for the Redskins and Packers and rushed for 103 yards on 21 carries (4.9 YPC) to go along with 16 receptions for 115 yards receiving and four total touchdowns.
