Tom Pelissero of USA Today reports that free agent TE Jermichael Finley will undergo an X-ray on his surgically fused spine on Monday.
- Pelissero adds that if everything checks out regarding the X-ray, Finley will then undergo an MRI/CAT scan.
- According to Pelissero, this is a “standard six-to-eight-week update.“
- However, it remains unclear as to when Finley will receive clearance.
Earlier this offseason, Finley visited with the Seahawks, but left without a contract given that he hadn’t been cleared by that point in time.
There appears to be mutual interest between the two parties, but he’ll obviously need to be cleared before talks could progress. Green Bay could also get involved at some point given that they have limited depth at the position.
Finley, 26, represents the best available tight end once he’s cleared to play and have him listed as the No. 1 player in our Best Available Free Agents list.
