TMZ Sports reports that former Cowboys and Jets WR Lucky Whitehead was arrested in Virginia on charges of DUI, driving without a license and failure to use a seat belt.
According to the report, Whitehead was pulled over around 2 AM on Dec. 23 after cops say he failed to obey a traffic signal.
Police suspected Whitehead had been drinking and asked him to perform a breathalyzer test. He refused, but police felt they had enough evidence to prove he was intoxicated upon arresting him.
Whitehead, 26, signed on with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Florida Atlantic back in 2015. He was in the final year of his three-year, $1.585 million contract and set to make a base salary of $615,000 for the 2017 season when the Cowboys elected to move on from him in 2017.
The Jets later claimed him off of waivers and he was on and off of their injured reserve list.
Last year, Whitehead was waived with an injury designation and reverted to injured reserve before eventually being cut loose with a settlement.
In 2016, Whitehead appeared in 15 games and caught three passes for 48 yards receiving and no touchdowns. He also rushed for 82 yards on 10 carries to go along with 394 kick return yards.
