Giants Claim TE Kyle Carter Off Waivers From Vikings

Field Yates of ESPN Reports that the Giants have claimed TE Kyle Carter off of waivers from the Vikings and will be awarded to New York on February 5.

Carter will be reunited with former Vikings OC Pat Shurmur in New York.

Carter, 25, signed on with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of Penn State back in 2016. He was among the team’s final roster cuts coming out of the preseason but later signed to the team’s practice squad.

The Vikings elected to cut Carter and were reportedly interested in bringing him back if he cleared waivers after the playoffs. However, the Giants claimed him off Minnesota’s waivers back in January. New York elected to waive him on Wednesday.

In 2017, Carter appeared in three games for the Vikings but has not recorded a single statistic.
