The Giants waived OT Chad Wheeler from injured reserve with a settlement on Monday.
The Giants also released LB Jonathan Anderson and WR Brittan Golden from injured reserve with settlements Monday as well.
Wheeler, 25, was signed by the Giants as an undrafted free agent out of USC in 2017. He signed a three-year, $1.66 million deal and was set to make a base salary of $645,000 in 2018 before the Giants waived him coming out of the preseason this year.
In 2018, Wheeler appeared in all 16 games for the Giants, making 14 starts. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 82 offensive tackle out of 85 qualifying players.
Golden, 29, originally signed on with the Bears as an undrafted free agent out of West Texas A&M back in 2012. He later had a brief stint with the Jaguars before eventually signing on to the Cardinals’ practice squad during the 2013 season.
Golden bounced on and off of the Cardinals’ active roster for years before becoming an unrestricted free agent and signing with the Giants in 2018. New York released him during final roster cuts this year.
In 2017, Golden appeared in 13 games for the Cardinals and caught five passes for 70 yards receiving and no touchdowns. He also totaled 81 kick return yards and 63 punt return yards.
