ESPN’s Field Yates reports that the Giants hosted former Lions TEÂ Joseph Fauria for a visit in recent days.
Fauria, 25, was, unfortunately, among the Lions’ final roster cuts this past weekend, as they trimmed their roster down to 53 players.
He was entering the final year of his three-year, $1.503 million rookie contract and would have made a base salary of $585,000 for the 2015 season.
Fauria is among the best available options at tight end, which happens to be a tough position to find help at this point in the year, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see him secure a new opportunity at some point in the near future.
In 2014, Fauria appeared in seven games and caught six passes for 74 yards receiving and a touchdown for the Lions.
